This book was really fun to read! Detour Ahead is about a twelve year old girl named Gilah who is about to have a Bat Mitzvah. She stops a bus because a boy named Guillermo, who is also a poet, fell off a bike. How do Gilah and Guillermo become friends? Read the book to find out!

this book can be good but sometimes you wont understand stuff like why she's embarrassed of the school she goes to and more stuff abt that even if you read it 10 times also it can get really boring at some points but i like how the auther did it from two different perspectives and how Guillermo part is written in poetry form

I really liked this book because the author made the book from to different perspectives and because its not too long but just the right length to enjoy it.
