I know a lot about the M.S. saint louis and have read several books about it. There were nazis in the crew as firemen(people that put out fires),and a real girl named ruthie was on the ship. The passengers were eventually divided among Holland, England,France, and Switzerland, after being rejected at America and Cuba. Some of the refugees that made it to France and England were killed in the war. There was also a mutiny but it failed.
I never knew about the M.S. St. Louis until I read this book.
Good book but I give this a book of four because of the bad punctuation you have to reword it to actually be able to read it.
I enjoyed reading this book. I felt like I was there with her. It kept my attention and was an easy read. I enjoyed reading about history I didn’t know.
I think its important for us to know about the past and was happy to learn about this story. I didnt give it 5 stars because i didnt like the read, as in the way the story had been typed and spaced i found it disturbing. But the story itself i wasnt aware of that boat that escaped and thought that was important to know about.
