Great book that I would recommend to anyone that likes stories of diversity!
I think the book is really good at least for people like me(I like baking and cooking so…)
This book is my absolute favorite! I love stories about Muslims and Pakistani immigrants. Also check out Flying Over Water and Barakah Beats. (These books are not on PJ Ourway, but you can probably get them anywhere else.) Gorgeous, baby!
I don't want to spoil it, but I definitely recommend it!
"A Place At The Table" is a beautiful book! I would recommend many reasons. Well, for one, I love cooking and baking, and if you do as well, this is a super fun read. There are even recipes in the book! The story is about two girls, Elizabeth and Sara, who come from different backgrounds but discover how much they have in common, teaches us a vital lesson - people and food might be different. Still, it doesn't mean they or their culture (including the food ) are wrong. The story also shows us the secret lives of parents. Sara's mom teaches at her school, and Elizabeth's mom struggles with their family's idea of identity. It sounds heavy, but it's pretty joyful and a good read.
