It was a sad story.
Very interesting and fascinating. I loved this book
This is a nice graphic novel about hardship and commitment. I like the illustrations, the colours really give the feeling of the story. I think there is more that could have been added to the story but it's still a nice read.
Good but short. if your a person into shorter books I would recommend it but for me personally, I like longer books and this is why I only gave it three stars.
I really liked this book! Maurice and his Polish family moved through 5 countries (Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Jamaica), during WWII escaping persecution and the Holocaust. In a settlement camp in Jamaica, Maurice finishes High School (with tutors and his dictionary) and then goes to college in Canada and becomes a lawyer. His dictionary helps him learn words and helps him in all of his school subjects. This story was inspiring to me because it shows you can work hard in difficult times and fulfill your dreams. Many kind people helped Maurice and his family along the way, and he in turn was able to help others as a lawyer. There is a funny part about his father's new pants and a scorpion, yikes! The story was written by Maurice's son. This book gives me hope in others and in tough times. Thank you for making it available, I really enjoyed reading it!
