kind of odd

this book is great read! in the book the main character, Lauren, dosn't get picked to be the lead in the school play just because she is Asian and dosn't look "all american." I think that this book shows you how kids like lauren feel when they are treated unfairly beacause of how they look. you should definetly choose this book!

It is funny that Lauren is the narrator, and the story is crazy. If you like that, I'd recommend this.

I dont have much to say about this book but it is good

I loved this book. In the book Laurens friend Tara is super good at everything and Lauren feels unimportant. When the two friends try out for a play, Tara gets a lead and Lauren is in the ensemble. The girls go to talk to the leader of the play and she says she didn't put Lauren in the lead because she doesn't look American enough. Throughout the book Lauren and Tara start to drift apart and Lauren becomes friends with the other kids in the ensemble. Overall, it was a good book. I would recommend it for ages 9-12
