I definitely recommend this book! It is about a Chinese Jewish girl named Lauren. Her and her friend Tara aren’t in any classes together this year, so they try out for the school play so they can be together. But when the perfect, all-American looking Tara gets the main part and Lauren gets put in the ensemble, their friendship is in jeopardy. Mrs. Tyndall, the play director, explains that Lauren doesn’t look American enough. Will Lauren be able to fix their problems, or will their friendship be over? i liked the book cause how she finds out that sometimes the lead role isn't the star and sometimes you just gotta be you and how mini is sooooooooo funny and how she finds out who her real friends are and who she is
