I loved this book. In the book Laurens friend Tara is super good at everything and Lauren feels unimportant. When the two friends try out for a play, Tara gets a lead and Lauren is in the ensemble. The girls go to talk to the leader of the play and she says she didn't put Lauren in the lead because she doesn't look American enough. Throughout the book Lauren and Tara start to drift apart and Lauren becomes friends with the other kids in the ensemble. Overall, it was a good book. I would recommend it for ages 9-12
I think it is terrible that some people think that Asian people aren't "american enough" to do things. This happens with other races, and religions too. It's not good that this happens. Lauren has to prove that she is "all-american". Lauren is an amazing actress, but the only reason why she doesn't get a lead part is because she's half Chinese and half Jewish. This book is so good, and a real page turner!
I loved most of the book but at some point in the middle it lost me. It took me a while after that to continue. If you like drama books then this is the book for you!
I loved this book and could not put it down!
not your all-american girl isa a really good book! It's about a little girl named Lauren who's friend is ALWAYS the star, the main course in a buffet.. well you get it. when there's a a awsome play about hula hooping and they both audition and honestly Lauren does better who do you think will get the part? Read it to find out!
