Great book about a girl who loved to carve. I recommend this book.

I liked the main character, Batya. She was ambitious and brave. She knew what she wanted and proved herself. It was inspirational about never quitting.

This books is amazing! My mom and I read it together and she was in tears multiple times throughout... all the emotions! Definitely recommend!

I loved the book . It is a little sad, but amazing.

It was an amazing book, yet heartbreaking at some points. About a girl (Batya) who moves to America because of a pogrom and wants to be a woodcarver, but apparently woodcarving is only for boys! Read to find out if Batya becomes a woodcarver after all.
