This is my favorite book. It's so sweet. I cried, I laughed, I smiled. Turtles are my favorite animal but aside from that this book is so amazing. The main character struggles with mental health issues and with the help of a friend he overcomes it. Be prepared to cry is your emotional.
Such a good book definitely recommend it.
This was a sad story with a happy ending.
"Turtle Boy" is an outstanding novel. The main character is a young boy nicknamed “Turtle Boy.” He was given this name because he loves turtles, but also, he seems to never come out of his shell. In the beginning of the novel, we learn that Turtle Boy is Jewish and will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah soon. His whole life changes when his rabbi tells him that he must do 36 hours of community service to prepare for his Bar Mitzvah. Many people are unable to relate to a shy child and reading about the experiences from Turtle Boy's point of view, was truly a game changer. I recommend reading "Turtle Boy" because it has a great lesson in the end, and the main characters’ development in the story was magical.
Turtle boy is a good book because it requires a lot of empathy to fully understand the details of the book. Turtle boy visits a boy in the hospital who has a disease. The boy in the hospital makes a list of things that he wanted to do, but he couldn’t because he was in the hospital. People call him turtle boy because his face is different. The reason that he was visiting patients at the hospital was because he had to do a service. The service was staying with the kids at the hospital for a bunch of hours every day. He eventually finds a very rare type of turtle and gets excited about that. RJ gets a pet and he lets the turtle go. There are many many things that can make you cry, somethings that can make you laugh, and some are some things that make you never want to close the book. It is a cliffhanger and it can be your favorite book In some cases you might want to just finish it in and be done. So you definitely want to check this book out and hope you like it!
