Thank you for a book that helped me feel better about myself. Also, I love turtles
Amazing book it helped me come out of my shell😉😉
It did not have good language. It was scary and I do not like this book.
Helped me realize i wasnt the only one with all kinds of crazy fears/anxiety... really helped me figure out some new ways to come out of my shell.
Kids at Will's school give him the awful nickname "Turtle Boy" because his chin isn't growing as fast as the rest of his face, but he also loves turtles and is a timid person who prefers to hide in his shell than to try new things. He's preparing for his Bar Mitzvah and is reluctant to take on any of the choices the rabbi gives the class, so he gets a special assignment: visiting RJ, an older teen, at the local hospital. RJ is dying of a rare disease and wishes he could have a few more adventures before that. But because he can't leave the hospital, it's up to fearful Will to have these experiences for RJ and report back, if only he can work up the courage. Maybe not everybody is as withdrawn as Will, but I think we can all relate to the instinct to hide from life instead of going out there and trying things that we might fail, that might cause embarrassment, or that might hurt us. This is a very moving and inspiring book about the ultimate friendship.
