I think the idea was good and then it got pretty sad. Other than that very interesting.

This is a very sad book where a boy , after his father died is forced to go to the worst orphanage possible, where the headmaster beats students for fun. He lives through all of this and still manages to have a great life doing art, partying all night, and hanging out with his buddies.
