Ellie’s not unhappy because she's fat.

She’s unhappy because no one will ever let her forget it.

It's about time she did something about that.

Amazing book but some heavy topics.

Review by Ellieboo26

This book is amazing, has a great plot, and is extremely well-written. It follows Ellie in her journey of self-acceptance and standing up for herself. It is very realistic, and unfortunately this kind of stuff happens every day in the real world. I cried a few times while reading this book, but in a good way. This book is in free verse poetry, which is an interesting but cool style of writing since I mainly read novels. This book covers topics like friendship, self-love and self-acceptance, bullying, and more. If you like books like this, then I highly recommend Starfish. The main character Ellie is funny, sarcastic, sweet, snarky, and speaks her mind. I definitely think you should read this book, but know that it covers some heavy topics and may be very sad.
